ACCREDITATION
All undergraduate and graduate programs at LIU Post are registered with the New York State Education Department and accredited by the . In addition to the entire University, various other academic programs in the College of Education, Information and Technology are specially accredited by professional organizations, signifying they meet the highest standards of educational quality as determined by leaders in the field.
LIU has successfully earned accreditation of its educator preparation programs by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). AAQEP has awarded 7-year accreditation to LIU Post's Teaching and Learning and Educational Leadership programs for excellence in educator preparation through June 2032.
Education preparation programs are housed in the College of Education, Information and Technology. Continuous accreditation by AAQEP applies to: programs in the Departments of Teaching and Learning, the educational leadership and the educational technology programs in DELTA (the Department of Educational Leadership, Technology, and Administration), Art Education, and Music Education. All other CEIT programs are also accredited: the counseling programs by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), the library programs by the American Library Association (ALA), and the speech pathology and communication science programs by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
