- 340 g Salmon fillets
- 30 ml Olive oil
- ½ tsp Paprika
- ½ tsp Garlic powder
- Lemon juice (for salmon) × ½
- 150 g Spaghetti
- Garlic cloves × 2
- 15 g Unsalted butter
- Lemon juice (for pasta) × 1
- ½ tsp Lemon zest
- ¼ tsp Chili flakes
- 1 tbsp Fresh parsley
- 2 g Black pepper
- 100 ml Water
- 4 g Salt
Method
-
Cook the pasta
Boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to the package directions until al dente — tender with a slight bite in the centre. Scoop out 100ml of the cooking water, then drain.
-
Season the Salmon
Pat salmon dry and season with paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
-
Heat half the olive oil
Heat half the olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Place salmon skin-side down
Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
-
Remove and set aside
Remove the salmon and set aside.
-
Make the Lemon Garlic Sauce
In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add the remaining olive oil and the butter. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Toss the pasta
Add the cooked pasta, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, pepper and chilli flakes to the pan with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss until the pasta is glossy and evenly coated.
-
Assemble the Plate
Place pasta on a plate, top with seared salmon, sprinkle with parsley, and serve with a lemon wedge.
